Watford have officially confirmed the season-long loan signing of Jordan Zemura from Udinese. The 24-year-old defender brings valuable Championship experience to Vicarage Road after previously playing for Bournemouth in England's second tier. Who is Jordan Zemura?
Zemura is a versatile left-back who can also operate as a wing-back or in midfield. He began his career at Bournemouth, making 78 appearances for the Cherries before moving to Serie A side Udinese in 2022. The Zimbabwe international has represented his country at senior level and brings a mix of physicality and technical ability to Watford's defense.
Why did Watford sign him?
According to Watford's technical director Gian Luca Nani, Zemura's Championship experience was a key factor in the signing. "Zemura is a player with Championship experience from his time at Bournemouth. He's a complete full-back with good technique and quality in attack," Nani said. "His Serie A experience has also strengthened his defensive game." The Hornets finished 16th last season with 57 points, scoring 53 goals and conceding 65, and will be looking to improve their defensive record.
