Watford have arranged for four young players to gain experience through loans at non-league clubs. This approach forms part of the team's plan to nurture emerging talent after a divisive move to end the Under-21 team in May, a change that surprised numerous players and their families and resulted in several departures.
Forward Remiero Moulton, aged 20, has moved to Dagenham & Redbridge in the National League South on a loan set to conclude on December 24. He participated in senior pre-season preparations and remains under contract with Watford for nearly two more seasons, with a potential additional year. Moulton was earlier on loan at Worthing this campaign and contributed to their National League South championship win previously.
Tobi Akinyimika, a midfielder, has joined St Albans City in the Isthmian League Premier Division until October 21. There, he will team up with another Watford academy player, Jai-Dea Moulton.
Sam Morris, a goalkeeper, has prolonged his current loan at Uxbridge, the leaders of the Southern League Premier Division South, until January 3. Another young goalkeeper, Finlay Murray, will take part in a single-match work experience arrangement with Egham Town of the Isthmian League South Central Division.
These loans occur while the senior team aims to enhance its performances. The first team has lost its last two outings. An upcoming important home match is scheduled against Burnley on October 10.
The club commented: "Four young Hornets have today agreed loan deals to boost their development." Remiero Moulton's arrangement with Dagenham & Redbridge lasts until Christmas Eve. The team's wider squad planning is ongoing after changes to the academy system.
